It’s 2017 already! Let’s have a look back at 2016’s eventful year for Robert Sheehan and run-down the exciting projects we can expect very soon.
January kicks off with a stunning new photoshoot & interview for Fault Magazine [Exclusive scans also available in HQ] and the US theatre and VOD release of Moonwalkers along with a couple of great interviews and movie stills.
By the end of January, Robert chats to Spacehop about his involvement in an entertaining video interview, we got quite a giggle out of that one!
Robert joins the cast of Sky Atlantic’s arctic thriller Fortitude Season 2 in February and heads over to Iceland and London to film his scenes (with breaks) until June. In April, Robert is featured in Issue 10 of Hunger Magazine.
The very first promotional still of Robert’s character in Fortitude is released in May, as well as the premiere of Banshee Betty by The Toilers which stars Robert alongside Charlie Murphy. You can find behind the scenes photos from social media in our photo gallery.
In June, Robert attends The Spoils premiere in London, wearing his trademark bright bottoms which you can find photos, including some exclusive ones in our gallery. Robert flys to Ireland days later to compete in the 2016 Kerry Challenge with his brother Brendan to raise money for EB (epidermolysis bullosa). What a wonderful man!
June also marks a special event for Robert as the world premiere of Jet Trash gets great praise at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland, and again, we see some awesome bright pants on the red carpet! HQ’s are available in the gallery, along with a sneak peek at the film here. (scroll down a little)
When September comes around, it was announced that Robert joined the cast of Ben Elton’s first Australian feature film Three Summers. Robert flys over to Australia to commence filming alongside Rebecca Breeds in Perth until mid-October. Shortly after he arrives, we get our first round of HQ photos from the set.
In October, the exciting trailer for Jet Trash finally drops! November, we get a cheeky video interview with HeyUGuys and in December, Robert travels to Portland to film Bad Samaritan alongside David Tennant until early January.
Also in December, the release of The Bigger Picture (part 1) drops online on Vimeo. Expect part 2 to come soon!
What an exciting year we had! With even more coming this year, it’s going to be busy! By the rate of how things have progressed in 2016, we will have plenty to watch this year! We get to see Fortitude Season 2 on Sky Atlantic that will be premiering very soon on January 26 in the UK. For Australian’s (most likely UK as well) will hopefully see Three Summers in August. The long awaited Geostorm that has had a release date change SO many times that hopefully it’s settled for October. We will also be looking forward to Bad Samaritan (possible worldwide release) sometime this year, along with Robert’s newest worldwide release project for Netflix called Mute.
What are you looking forward to the most this year? I can’t believe how fast 2016 disappeared! (:
*New Years post inspired by rupert-grint.us*
Hey visitors, I have some admin news for you today. This website is almost 7 years old! You may remember us as Robert Sheehan Online, dating back to 2009.
July of last year I received the keys to this website as the previous owner had no more time to continue it. I have since changed the name due to losing the domain name in August 2015
robert-sheehan.com (host went bust, sad times) and therefore had to move all the website content and photos over to the new home right here at robert-sheehan.org. For any curious minds, check out the very first post in 2009 made by the lovely Vicki, the founder of Robert Sheehan Online.
Everyone who has had the privilege of working on this website has done an amazing job at keeping it growing over the years, and even though I have been here for just 1, I have worked my little butt off making the place even better for visitors by making it more navigation friendly, mobile responsive, posting the missing updates and uploading everything that’s missing in the photo gallery… (there is still more to go!) I had also connected the website to Tumblr and Instagram last year while I continued to update Twitter and Facebook which I obtained from the previous owners.
*Fun fact: Social media accounts can be (in this case) extensions to websites and does not necessarily represent when they are established. RSD Twitter was opened in 2014, a lot later than the website’s first post in 2009.*
Anyway, let’s cut to the anniversary news! You are all invited to a countdown of the most popular photos in the photo gallery, you can join me by finding RSD on any of our social networks as I am posting quality visuals across platforms. I am currently on number 30, so 29 more days to go! This website will be 7 on the 14th of December, very close to the exciting London premiere of Jet Trash!
Thank you to everyone who has checked in and for the support through the years. It means a lot. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this or anything at all, I’m always happy to help as much as I can! Be sure to follow RSD on any of our social accounts below to see some of your favourite photos on your dash every day. (:
Rob and his brother Brendan are doing The Debra Kerry Challenge 2016 to raise money in support for people with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare skin disease. Please help the great cause by donating if you can! More details below.
We have decided to do the DEBRA Ireland Kerry Challenge and politely ask you to donate to this worthy cause if you can.
EB is a severe rare genetic skin condition, EB. EB means skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly, it means endless blistering, excruciating bandaging.. an exhausting battle.
We are grateful for everything we have and grateful to have wonderful people like Emma Fogarty & all at Debra Ireland in our lives.
Please donate what you can to this worthy cause if you can.
Rob’s first theatre performance tonight for The War of Roses! Who was lucky enough to score a seat? We will be sure to keep you posted on anything new that follows! The show will be going through to October 31, so get your tickets if you haven’t already! Click here!
– I do apologize for the absence, I was busy covering the Toronto International Film Festival through the weekend.
